Ideal Orgs

Marcus Brutus Rathbun hates Ideal Orgs, and never misses an opportunity to rail against them. His main argument is to state that it is off-Policy and not something LRH wanted. (The actual truth is that Marcus Brutus hates orgs altogether and wants them closed down forever, in favor of his ‘Independent’ movement.)

“… Hubbard so abhored the idea of Scientology becoming all about real estate and MEST to the point he advised rebellious Scientologists in the early days to bomb any ostentatious quarters some future manager might construct.”

Well, that is what Marcus Brutus says.

This is what LRH says.

Pulling Together…

“And now we’re thinking in terms of new buildings and designing new buildings all over the world. In other words, we’ve kept it there for a long time; now we’re going to keep it there with exclamation points!” …

“It has been my ambition for a very long time to be able to say to any human being on earth that they could walk up to any organization of Scientology, whether it was a center, a city office or a Central Organization – be able to walk in the front door and at the end of some, well you could even say a nebulous number of hours of processing, emerge out of that front door Clear.” …

“You should support your organizations in your area …

We Scientologists have got to pull together.”

Saint Hill Purchase

“My program has gone as far as this: I have bought, with my own money and whatever I could gather, a place in Sussex that’s quiet enough and remote enough for research and in which I can get lost enough to write. I emptied out all my loose cash, sold my boats and made my credit creak but we have a writing and research centre for the UK.”

The Importance of Building
Central Organizations

“To make nothing out of the enemy requires a strong position for ourselves. We cannot fire from nowhere. We need a base, a fortress, a steady firing platform. In short we need a string central organization, steady effective staff members and precisely formed and compartmented posts and departments. To have less is to invite defeat. We cannot make nothing of the enemy unless we have have these things. And unless we are willing to make something of ourselves.” …

Our enemies are aberration, human stupidity, social idiocies and the lies which are supposed to be life. It is adventurous to attack these things unless one has the right answers and can put them into effect and so erase the consequences of his attack. Well, we have the right answers and we are doing all possible to put them into effect and we’ll suffer no consequences for having done so.”

The Ideal Org

“The Ideal Org would be an activity where people came to achieve freedom and where they had confidence they would attain it.” …

“One could look at this ideal org and know that this was the place a new civilization was being established for this planet..”…

“The ideal org is the image one builds toward. It is the product of the caustitive actions of many. Anything which is short of an ideal org is an outpoint that can be put right. The end product is not just an ideal org but a new civilization already on its way.”

The Importance of Building
Central Organizations Part II

“But to defeat aberration, human stupidity, social idiocies and the lies, one needs a strong point of departure and reliable friends.

“Our strong point of departure is our central organization, the network of Scientology at large and friends who are reliable, informed and skilled.

“All this we have made. We have made it from cobwebs and nowhere. But it is made and we are consolidating our position. We are already formidable. We must be unassailable.”…

“Make something of your organization.
“Make something of your post.
“Make something of your fellow Scientologists.

L.Ron Hubbard
HCO Info Letter, 25 Feruary 1962

“The major pluspoint was PURPOSE. We wanted a big, booming org and we got one. Anything that did not contribute to that was cast aside and everything that did was pushed in fast. On every post there were no other fish to fry.

“And there was another point – it is a different idea: The consideration that it takes a long time to build something is not true. The itself is an aberration, an effort to discourage destruction by pretending creation takes a long time.

It only took a few weeks to build the old Saint Hill org.  That they did the same a few years later in Boston shows that it is not just I who can do it.

“The difference between not doing it and doing it is simply having the purpose of doing it and then doing it!”
