Marty Rathbun and Mike Rinder: Just Tired Old Critics of Scientology

Marty Rathbun’s facade is crumbling before everyone’s eyes, more and more each day. He has tried for several years to portray himself as being dedicated to “standard” Scientology, and to being “on-Source,” all the while doing all he can to covertly and overtly destroy the Tech and LRH.

His activities as a squirrel are well known, and anyone who suffers an acute decline of common sense and puts themselves in his hands, will quickly be turned into a religious hater, if they weren’t already. Aside from particular Auditor Code violations and observable squirrellings of the tech, this is the primary intention of Rathbun’s “auditing” and indoctrination of his “pc’s.”

It’s a bit hard to be sympathetic with his victims, as they always turn right around after being “handled” by Marty, and attack Scientology.

But now the masquerade of being “pro-Scientology” and “pro-LRH” is getting harder and harder for Rathbun, and his mini-me clone Rinder, to maintain.

We might charitably (and far too reasonably) excuse Rathbun and Rinder’s mangling at the hands of the BBC’s Sweeney, and dub-in that they didn’t realize how he was going to trash LRH, the Tech, and Scientology and Scientologists. We might understand, given what stupid dupes they looked like, how they would try to downplay how destructively suppressive the whole thing was and continue their facade of being “Scientologists.”

But they really can’t fake it anymore.

The latest media attack has Rathbun, Rinder, and their fellow apostates excited and encouraged, and thinking they smell blood. What they are all saying about the latest magazine article reveals just how very anti-LRH and anti-Scientology they are, and it’s getting impossible to try to convince anyone reading them that they are really “pro-Scientology.”

I don’t recommend anyone read the article. It’s a waste of time for anyone who has ever been genuinely helped by Scientology, and who has seen the same old tired attack points put forth before.

Suffice it to say, it contains vicious attacks, lies, distortions, and a clear intent to tell a narrative that Rathbun and his ilk have been pushing constantly. Moreover, it seems to find every possible way to demean LRH personally and professionally.

In other words, it’s just a new collection of the most vicious anti-Scientology and anti-LRH lies and attack points in the tired history of attacks by critics, assembled to look like a journalistic inquiry.

Here’s what LRH says about critics and their motives in HCOB 5 Nov 67:

“Those who are not Scientologists are left in complete ignorance of the motives of the dishonest. And they have no chance of personal immortality. It is as simple as that. It is better to be endangered but with a chance than to be condemned utterly and without one.

“Those who criticize one for being a Scientologist or make snide remarks cannot stand a personal survey of past actions or motive. This happens to be a fortunate fact for us. The criminal abhors daylight. And we are the daylight.

“Now get this as a technical fact, not a hopeful idea. Every time we have investigated the background of a critic of Scientology we have found crimes for which that person or group could be imprisoned under existing law. We do not find critics of Scientology who do not have criminal pasts. Over and over again we prove this…”

“…Two things operate here. Criminals hate anything that helps anyone, instinctively. And just as instinctively a criminal fights anything that may disclose his past.”

But what does Rathbun say about the latest false propaganda attack?

He thinks the writer “opened a public debate on Scientology in…a thorough, balanced, newsworthy fashion…” Further, Rathbun considers it “…one of the more informed, accurate pieces of journalism on the subject to date.”

What does Rathbun say about a hit piece that attempts to degrade LRH and all his work? He says, “if anyone wants to moan about a less than flattering treatment of LRH and the tech…” blame it on the Church!

And Rathbun agrees with and encourages his little fellow suppressives all atwitter about the bashing of Scientology, Scientologists and LRH, calling it “quite just and fair,” and “wonderful news.”

Rathbun, who cooperated so fully with the article’s author that you might think he wrote it himself, ignores what LRH says about such articles:

“Never discuss Scientology with the critic. Just discuss his or her crimes, known and unknown. And act completely confident that those crimes exist. Because they do.”

Why would LRH be so certain about that? Because it is the tech that was hard won in many many thousands of cases, and proven to be workable and true.

Rathbun and Rinder of course are, underneath it all, OPPOSED to the Tech and to LRH himself and all he discovered. Most of all, they are OPPOSED to people using the full Tech to become free and more powerful than they are.

Sad little SP criminals, cooperating and encouraging ANYONE would would help them in their psychotic, destructive efforts to bring down the Tech and it’s Founder, and especially the Church he put in place to preserve and expand Scientology for all.

And behind it all, as LRH pointed out long ago, are “crimes known and unknown.” And that’s what should be discussed with critics.

Yes, this applies to the “journalists” behind the latest media attack. And it applies to Mark Rathbun, Mike Rinder, and all who validate their efforts or even quietly support them.

All have crimes; all are afraid of having them exposed; all must attack that which they think will find them out.

And Rathbun and Rinder are left naked, unable to continue to claim they are pro-LRH or pro-Scientology. They are openly supporting and even reveling in a media attack on LRH and Scientology. They are finally revealing that they want Scientology and the Founder himself destroyed.

They are revealing themselves as just newer version of the same tired old critics Scientology has had for a long time.
