Marty Rathbun: Riding the Coattails of a Giant

“One of the ways an SP works to stop an activity or to halt an Affluence is to pick out key personnel and spread wild, false and alarming stories about them.” – L. Ron Hubbard

This describes Marty Rathbun’s daily, suppressive stock-in-trade to a “T.”

What more does LRH say about those like Rathbun and his cohorts who engage in constant rumor-mongering?

“Wild Rumors – This symptom is caused by Potential Trouble Sources. Find whose case Roller Coasters (gets better, gets worse). Investigate. You’ll find a Suppressive or two outside the org.” – L. Ron Hubbard

Rathbun confirms daily the validity of his own suppressive declaration. Dismissed from the church he worked so hard to destroy, relegated to his shack well outside the org, he propagates lies, slander, and rumors.

“Had I heeded over the years any rumormonger, we would have no orgs. I generally don’t listen and, if I do, only go so far as inspecting stats.

It is easy to discipline staff and hard to discipline the public. A lazy executive only disciplines staff. It takes more confront to tackle the public.” – L. Ron Hubbard

If one looks at Rathbun, instead of listening to his false PR, pretense, and outright lies, what is the one thing we know for sure?

He has no stats.

Marty Rathbun brought no one into Scientology; he can’t even be credited with convincing anyone to join his perverse mockery of it. His only ‘public’ are those who individuated themselves from Scientology and the Church by their own anti-social actions, most of whom were already declared suppressive.

Marty Rathbun managed to get 1 (one) book into the hands of a public person – but only by throwing it in the garbage. The garbage collector salvaged it for himself.

Marty Rathbun pontificates about the need for training, but trains no one. He doesn’t have certs himself, left a trail of mangled cases in his wake when he blew that are STILL being cleaned up years later, runs upper level processes on lower-level PC’s, and refuses to follow even the most basic technical issues.

Marty Rathbun’s departures from standard tech are legend, ranging from not keeping worksheets and using sub-standard meters to C/Sing in the chair, not using exams, and utterly refusing to use overt/withhold tech on himself or others. His technical crimes and high crimes could fill pages and pages of this blog; and those are only the crimes we know about, not the ones he’s carefully hiding.

Marty Rathbun never worked in a service org, much less improved one, despite the self-promoting lies he has told about his past. All he knows about delivering Scientology Auditing or Training is what he has heard from others.

The only training Marty Rathbun received was that given to him in a humane effort to rehabilitate Rathbun-the-being after his long pattern of psychotic acts, non-production, and sabotaged projects could not be camouflaged by him any longer.

Rathbun never did and will never want others to truly train on Source material. He knows that if they did, they would see how far he is from standard, and how deeply and widely he squirrels the tech. His talk of training is yet another effort to distract people from Rathbun’s true intentions; to hold others down, while appearing to “help,” and thus avoid being spotted for the destructive valence he is in so he can remain “safe.”

Again and again Marty Rathbun talks about training, but it never actually gets organized, presented, produced – does it?  It never gets done. Not surprising if you refuse to be blinded by the only product Marty does produce – vicious, misleading rumors – and look at the facts:

Marty Rathbun has no record at all of getting things done. The only stats Rathbun can cite are the number of lies he tells about his technical acumen, his “products,” and his past.

The productive and creative people that for a time he was trusted to work with – the people he now criticizes – know the truth: Rathbun was not a producer, he was a destroyer.  He wreaked havoc, and (almost) always carefully concealed himself as the source of it.

While others genuinely produced – getting the job done that needed to be done, no matter the obstacles, no matter the naysayers and can’t-be-done sayers – Rathbun made it his purpose in life to cause turmoil, foster conflict, and create and prolong situations that distracted from getting the show on the road.

Rathbun knew he was doing this.  He knowingly adopted a suppressive operating basis.  Like all criminals, Rathbun is a person who gave up on himself. He knew that in truth he was inferior to his senior, and that became – and remains to this day – an obsession with Rathbun, who must always, in his own little mind, be right.

For a time Marty Rathbun walked in the shadow of a giant. His life was defined by it. Now he attempts to ride the coattails of this great man, attempting to tear him down in the insane hope that he can take his place.

But in the bottom of his corrupt little soul, Rathbun knows it is an ambition he can only glibly dream of.  He knows he’s incapable of selling a single book to a new person, much less handling a situation, running an organization, or producing any constructive product.

Rathbun hangs on the coattails of this giant in the dim, parasitic hope that some of his greatness will be associated with him.  But the only epitaph Marty will receive was already written long ago:

“The criminal, in fact, has forfeited his life and any meaning to it even when he remains “uncaught” and “unpunished,” for in the long run, he has caught himself and punishes himself for all eternity.” – L. Ron Hubbard
