Marty Rathbun and Monique Rathbun Censoring Free Speech

I have been informed by my hosting company that Monique Rathbun has attempted, without any success, to shut down this blog.

Monique Rathbun claims that her husband, Marty Rathbun, is a public figure. Well, if that’s the case he has less protection from defamation from regular citizens. But there is no defamation because everything posted about Marty is either true or a parody, two words that the Rathbun family is not familiar with. In fact any alleged “impersonations” of Marty Rathbun are done in a satirical manner which, according to US law, are not actually impersonating. Furthermore, I’m not sure where Monique Rathbun got her definition of stalking, but writing blog posts about people is not stalking them.

It is known that Marty curtails people’s first amendment rights on his blog. That’s his blog and he can do whatever he wants but not when it comes to my blog. He is not going to silence me or stifle my free speech. Marty can’t take criticism. Marty can’t handle the truth.

Marty never learned a fundamental lesson: free speech, due process and fundamental fairness cannot be ignored especially in the cyber-community. He is a hypocrite, coward and liar. He didn’t even have the fortitude to sign his letter, but had his wife do it. Nice.

Below is the complaint “written” by Monique Rathbun to the hosting company.

We’ve received the following complaint regarding your site:
Hello my name is Monique Rathbun and I am writing you to bring to your
attention a blog that is being hosted by you that is in direct
violation of your policies.

My husband, Mark (Marty) Rathbun is a former Church of Scientology
executive and is now an outspoken activist who is exposing the illegal
human trafficking violations and abuses perpetrated by the Church of
Scientology. He has been interviewed by national and international
media outlets including CNNs Anderson Cooper 360, New York Times, The
New Yorker Magazine, The St. Petersburg Times, BBC (London) and ABCs
Nightline with Martin Bashir. He currently offers spiritual
counseling to other former church members to help them recover from
the abuses they suffered and/or witnessed at the hands of the church.
He also operates a blog hosted by WordPress which serves a forum for victims of
the church to have a voice and speak up for themselves and others.
In response to my husband’s actions the Church of Scientology has
launched a campaign to intimidate him into silence. They have
registered dozens upon dozens of domain names, all including some form
of his name ?Mark Rathbun?. Many are not active but the which is hosted by you is. The church
uses this blog to pretend to be my husband, often with posts that are
allegedly written by my husband see this link and

It is also being used to stalk and harass our clients and friends.
Each time we have a former church member come to us for counseling,
the church posts their pictures and defamatory information about their
pasts on their blog, see these links
