Marty Rathbun, Selling Despair

LRH led such an active and adventurous life that most people have only a slight inkling of everything that he did, and all the hats he had.

Nevertheless, all Scientologists know of one major hat that he had – that of Goal Maker.

LRH said that people could be free of their reactive minds and could rise to greater heights. He promised that we could attain OT, and set that as a goal that all Scientologists individually strive for.

As a group LRH gave us many other goals, a primary one being to create, “A civilization without insanity, without criminals and without war, where the able can prosper and honest beings can have rights, and where Man is free to rise to greater heights.

LRH set many goals, and every one of them is just what one would expect of someone as uptone as LRH. Goals that give people hope; goals that are positive; goals that uplift people; goals that unite people’s efforts toward worthwhile accomplishment; goals that get everyone to reach for the stars.

The only way you can really postulate any kind of a goal at all is imagination. And if you don’t postulate high-flown goals—if you don’t hitch your wagon to a star—it’s a cinch you’re not going to get up to the top of the pine tree, because it takes that much to get this much.” L. Ron Hubbard

Bearing LRH’s goals in mind, let us look for a minute at Marty Rathbun and Mike Rinder and what they are promoting.

Although they claim to support LRH and his goals, their actions show that to be a lie. They devote their energy to tearing down the structures and technology that LRH put in place to achieve the goals he set.

That is so obvious that it is hardly worth pointing out. Everyone with an ounce of perception can see that is what they do, which, perversely, is what Rat and Rin want people to see because it masks their far more insidious evil.

What Rat and Rin do not want people to see, is their covert, but direct, negation of LRH’s goals. This they prefer to hide in their rhetoric and their finger-pointing diatribes, where it can’t be clearly seen for what it is.

Take the LRH goal of OT for example and see what they have done with that. Rat and Rin have gone to great lengths to persuade their flock that OT cannot be attained and that OT 9 and 10 do not exist and will never be released.

A total falsehood. But, one must ask, what is the purpose of that if not to sell despair? If not to directly assault the LRH goal?

(Lest anyone worry, LRH said, in HCOB Scientology, Current State of the Subject and Materials, “Any difficulties people were having with going Clear were handled in the mid-60s and OT levels as they exist in Advanced Orgs were completed by 68. There are perhaps 15 levels above OT VII fully developed but existing only in unissued note form, pending more people’s full attainment of OT VI and VII.”)

Rat does the same thing with most everything. He specializes in selling despair, in telling people that goals cannot be achieved, that it is all a waste of time and that they should give up now. Rin does just the same – he’s just a lot lazier and slightly more covert.

Just look at what they say about any subject – Orgs, Flag, Management, VMs, Superpower, OT VII, celebrities, the public, Grades, Clear, LRH, training, dissemination.

In EVERY case they specialize in smashing the LRH goal for that activity, group, sector or public. In EVERY case their intention is to sell despair. “Give up now.” “It can’t be done.” “It’s all useless.” “We’ll never make it”

Have you ever heard Rat issue a goal other than that destruction of LRH and Scientology? He cannot do it.

Has Rin ever inspired anyone? He can’t do it.

To the weak, to the cowardly, to the reprehensibly irrational, dishonesty and underhanded dealing, the harming of others and the blighting of their hopes seem to be the only way of conducting life.” LRH Ethics, Justice and the Dynamics

Not that I really think I need to, but I will just point out anyway that selling despair is a very low toned activity. Its purpose is to restimulate.

COVERT INVALIDATION IS THE LEVEL OF AN SP’S SOCIAL INTERCOURSE.

An SP can only restimulate another; he has no power of his own.” LRH

Know Rat and Rin for what they are. Suppressive Persons whose ONLY ‘power’ is to restimulate people by destroying the LRH goals they aspired to.
